Great! Loving all of the changes you guys have been doing. I appreciate your hard work.
One thing I’d like to request is making communities deletable. Some update at some point seems to have removed that feature, and it’d be great to have it back so I don’t have a pointless extra Communities tab on my profile.
That’s nice and all, but what I want to know is when you’ll let us sort our Favorites and Author Alerts lists by author again and have both list as one big list instead of multiple pages…
I do very much miss not having my story alerts/favorites on one long page instead of many… I appreciate all the upgrades and glitch-fixes you are doing for us, but I hope you’ve added Atem’s and others request for the one page listing to your To-Do list… Thanks FFN/Xing for all your hard work!
Not to mention it was nice having the review box in a smaller and separate window instead of the built-in box on the page like we do now. It was easier reviewing when I could type out my review while I read. Especially when I was reading a particularly long chapter/story.
Here’s a feature suggestion for reviewing that might help with this problem:
A “Quote Story” button in the review space, that causes the story chapter to be quoted within a small box below the review area. Reviewers can easily copy text from this to use in the review.
It would allow readers to directly quote from the story more easily, especially when reviewing longer chapters/stories. It would encourage more detailed reviews.
It could be abused by people using it to spam the review space, but the character limit on reviews would mitigate this. It could also be abused by plagiarists, but plagiarists can currently use copy-and-paste.
Sometimes I like to leave longer reviews that quote from the story, and I draft them out on my computer in a text box before pasting them into the review space.
Hmm, when people changes their pen-name or story title do their watchers get any automatic notification? This would be a nice little feature to have if it not yet implement.
If you mean having a “submit category” option like we have the option to submit reviews then yeah, that would be nice.
If you mean letting the people writing the fanfics add categories as they please, no. I can see someone who is either new, or not so bright trying to add Harry Potter to the movie section.
I know the storymarks feature is coming back, but I would really love to know when we can expect its return. I have such a hard time reading long stories because I can never remember what chapter I left off on.
Can we have the storymarks feature back? Like Christine noted, sometimes it’s hard to remember which chapter we’ve left off reading from (such as when authors takes long breaks in between chapters), and sometimes it’s a nice indicator on which categories/authors/stories that we’ve already been to. At the moment, the color change is only exclusive to the general categories. Prior to the recent changes, it’d show up even in the Favorite Stories/Authors tabs on an author’s profile.
Reinstalling the Bookmarks feature would be nice I’m impressed with the recent installment for members being able to select the country and regions within residence we live on our own, but here’s an idea: Can we have an additional option (in regards to this), where we can search authors by country? At least in advanced searching? I mean our location’s on our profiles should be there for diverse reasons, right? It would help if we could filter our searches to specific countries.

Personally I think the built-in review box is convenient. It saves me the trouble of constantly moving back-and-forth between two windows.

Will there be a “always browser with HTTPS enabled” option?

I like this idea! I haven’t changed my penname since I joined the site, but I know some of my favorite authors who have. Lol

I love the changes but I think fanfiction could be improved by making it easier to add a book, movie, etc

I think it would be GREAT if we could add crossover communities! Thank you!!
