it is another sad story that the admins are content to just remove the stolen works and leave the person on the site happily stealing again.

This particular plagiarist has a habit of deleting the plagiarized stories once they get negative reviews. Twice they've done it since they've been posted to the blog. That said, it would be nice if the site admins took a break and did another purge.

Donny has no idea what’s going on in the reviewer’s or the author’s mind.

It doesn't matter that we're not omniscient or telepathic. Writing can reveal stuff about a writer, particularly if they aren't careful. Also, why should anyone PM you at your FP account about this matter? You're the one who brought up PMs, which are supposed to be "private messages" into a public forum and now you're demanding that people share their own PMs with you. That's not proper etiquette.

I've been holding back saying this, but I know the reason why you're so defensive about people being called out publicly for breaking the site rules is because you yourself have been called out for breaking the site rules and legitimately so. You've posted chapters as individual stories as well as non-story content. And no... the explanation you left in a review to your own story about how chapters are equivalent to episodes/arcs/books doesn't fly either. It is not equivalent.

I'm also going to bring up the fact you're the person we've lectured in the past here about it being improper etiquette to review your own stories to reply to your own reviewers publicly with reviews to your own stories. Answers to questions should have been added in as author's notes to your stories and other replies should have been kept private between you and the reviewer.

Author? You actually called said plagiarist an author? Wow...
I know that they can find the rules if they are telling it in a review, but more people who comment that they know the story is plagiarized has more pressure on the criminal. Even if they arent showing it. Being caught repeatedly and by many has more effect than a single person saying it.

And NO ONE was bullying the plagiarist (NOT author, the stories on their profile are all stolen works btw) I have looked at the review of said groups and nope I cant find any libel or bullying there. hell, I wouldnt mind if people bullied such people. They dont deserve an ounce of mercy in my mind. If they had the balls to steal, then they should have the balls to deal with the consequences.

And I can tell you what is going on in the plagiarist's mind (yet again NOT author), and that is the fact that they have absolutely no respect for the true authors of these works, nor for the rules or the community. They deserve to be told repeatedly, spamming their reviews with comments that point out the same thing. The story isnt theirs, they broke a rule, and should suffer the consequences. it is another sad story that the admins are content to just remove the stolen works and leave the person on the site happily stealing again.

The vigilantes who call their actions 'concrit' state that they are informing the plagiarist of the rule. One comment, citing the rule and where to find it, should enough.
If they are operating as a gang and the point is to harass other authors, no, one comment is not enough to satisfy them.
I see I must be plainer: I don't like vigilantes OR bullies and I don't believe claims of omniscience or complete telepathy. Donny has no idea what's going on in the reviewer's or the author's mind.

I returned to this blog to ask if Luna's claim to have PM everyone here is true? Did she fail to PM anyone here? And did all those she did PM agree with her? If she omitted anyone or if anyone disagreed, I would like to know. This is for my personal information, and is not a continuation of the current discussion. Replies may be left on my FP account.

Of course. And this certainly is going to tell the plagiarist that their behavior is not tolerated... Just a single person commenting, then the rest ignoring it. Yes... they certainly will feel the wrath of the community for that they did. They will think that they are in the clear and people are ignoring their crime. Well guess what! This isnt a solution.

No one was threatening the plagiarist to kill them or verbally abused them sweetheart. They all just pointed it out that what they are doing is against the rules, they reported them and told them that his/her action is not tolerated among the community. PLUS one doesnt really believe a single person if they commented that the story is truly plagiarized (seen this happen, the rightful author reported it and wrote in a comment all alone, no one else and people kept ignoring it, thinking he was just joking and wanted to mess with the 'author'). If many more confirm it, then it is very well believable. (Talking about people who dont speak the other language if it was translated and cant see the similarity).

I received a series of very strange messages from Luna, (Luna Goddess of the Night ), where she requested a private correspondence on the public topic most recently discussed here. I declined, and pointed out that the place for such an exchange was this blog. In response to an influx of messages in response (three between 1138 and 1134) and the unpleasant tone of all four, I have blocked her.

As for the vigilantism advocated by some posters here, I suggest if you find a plagiarized text and DO NOT FIND an existing review pointing this out, give a review stating where the original may be found and the appropriate rule and where to find it. Then, without threats or conditions or further comments, report the author.

I think we have reached fundamental positions, and further discussion is not called for.

Well said, Favonilla.

Might I also add that I am a writer who is more than willing to comply with the site rules, and moreover find them all reasonable and easy to follow. Making sure your story is readable, given the appropriate rating, separated into digestable segments where applicable and not spammed all over the site isn't that hard and doesn't detract from the story. Interactive stories don't show off the talents of the author. I've seen old rule-breaking Q and As and they're just plain boring. The site states that it doesn't filter the works submitted to it, and that everyone should respect their fellow aspiring writers. Plagiarism is quite obviously a lack of the respect that statement asks of us. Add that plagiarism is specifically addressed in the rules and you have grounds to report it if you find it. I do not wish to offend anyone, and will therefore not take part in this long argument beyond what I have already said.

"Third party bullying"? Give me a break. Telling someone they did something wrong, like calling someone's work your own is not bullying. Seriously. If people don't want to be called plagiarists, then they shouldn't be stealing another authors' hard work.
